Insanely obsessed with Thassia from Blog da Thassia.  This 22 year old Brazilian has got personal style nailed! (PS have your Google page translator ready to go as her website is in Portuguese)

Amazing Space

This 1930's Art Deco apartment in West Hollywood is perfection!

Why?  Because it has heaps going on, but it works.

Candles and Pyjamas

I haven't been to a Peter Alexander store in yonks and yonks.  Yesterday whilst shopping I was drawn into their Doncaster store by the smell of baking cookies.

After a bit of investigation, I found that it was the scent of one candle.  Yes just one, that enticed me in.  It was 'Tahaa' by Glasshouse:

Best candle ever

An absolutely amazing scent of Vanilla and Caramel. I have had a good smell of Glasshouse candles before and what I really love is that they all smell great.  Whilst Diptyque are considered by many as the 'rolls royce' of designer candles (and have the best packaging) I find some of them smell a little funky.  Some are nice, but some are really weird.  With Glasshouse, I find they all smell amazing and natural.

I do love the idea of using my old Diptyque glass to do this:

Just not sure I can justify the $99 AUD price tag :(.  Glasshouse candles are only $39, burn for 80 hours and are available at David Jones.

Now back to pyjama guru, Peter Alexander.

He sure knows how to merchandise his wares.  The smell of baking cookies and a store that had the heating up really high created that cosy environment that would make you want to purchase his sleepwear and curl up on the couch!  I did pick some favourites:

Pink Forest Harem Sleep Pant

Peter Alexander sleep tee
Zebra Silk Sleep Tee

Peter Alexander Sleep socks

Super cosy sleep socks

Love his stuff!!

Some recent purchases!

I have been on a bit of a clothing splurge recently, it has a lot to do with the changing of the seasons (well that's my excuse!).  As the weather begins to cool down after a warm summer I start to think about topping up my wardrobe for Autumn and Winter.  Some favourite purchases:

All from Topshop! From left:

1. A fluffy and ultra soft knit hoodie that will look great over skinny jeans or layered under a duffle coat.  It is a longer length, and a bit longer at the back.  I really like this fit.
2. Some extra thick leggings.  These are great as they are genuinely very think so you don't need to worry about your underwear showing through and also will keep me a little warmer as the weather cools.
3. I blogged about this dress a few weeks ago and did go ahead and purchase it.  It is a slightly lower cut in the front than expected, but very true to colour.  Its a nice quality fabric too.

I also bought another jumper from Topshop but it is no longer available on their website.  I am really really pleased with the quality of all the items for the price.  Thumbs up Topshop!

I also continued my hunt for the perfect orangey red nail polish.  I purchased OPI's 'My Chihuahua Bites'.

Unfortunately its still a little bit too coral, but I like it nonetheless.

I was also given a gift from a friend who recently returned from a holiday in the US.  Some Victoria's Secret super bright trakkies!  LOVE them!!

New Freedom Catalogue

The new Freedom catalogue just hit my letterbox.  It isn't hugely impressive, a lot of old faithful items are in it (like their great sofas), however there were two really stunning pieces that caught my eye.

This gold limited edition 'Spaghetti' side table is only $129.

I can picture it sitting beside my reupholstered chair (see previous post!).  However that will not be ready until June so I will just have to fit it into my space somehow until then.

Freedom Side table

This 'Bazaar' rug is $449

I love the ethnic/ikat type of look and this rug would look fantastic in a neutral space.
coming soon to freedom
I wish they would do more modern or stand out rugs like this one!  I love all the ones over at West Elm, but the shipping to Australia is just too much of a splurge!

Decisions Decisions - Reupholstering

I have been intending to buy a new chair for my house for some time, when my mum suggested reupholstering a 100 year old chair they have had collecting dust in their garage.  Thinking this would be an easy task, I embarked on a bit of image stalking/fabric sampling.  Have now found out it is FAR from easy.  I am sitting here with a myriad of fabric samples and a pinterest board driving me nuts!

The chair (eek!):

The samples:

You can also see the colour of my couch, a mossy pastel green.

The inspiration!:

Chair piping

Dress up an occasional chair by using a contrasting piping fabric. I find the rich texture of velvet too bulky to be used as piping and often choose a thinner cotton such as this ticking stripe to keep the lines of curvaceous chair looking tailored and elegant.

Really like this chair. Can I do this with piping? Also, like the pink accent.

I think my favourite so far is number one.  I velvety grey with a hint of purple with black piping.  Or maybe a navy with light blue piping??

Street Style Clutch Inspiration

I love street style. I love the randomness, the diverse personal style and the mix of designer, vintage and high street that create some of the best looks outside of the magazines (and sometimes even better than the magazines).

I also love them for outfit inspiration.  I don't often get caught up on an entire look, but rather one element will catch my attention and my obsession!  At the moment it is the clutch.  The accessory that holds just enough to get you by- the phone, a bit of cash, lipgloss and a house key.  But it is more than that, and as you will see for the images below it is the element that creates the most 'pop' and interest.

To get an on trend clutch on a budget, you cannot beat Asos for range and price.  My favourites that are available right now are:

Did you notice the purple clutch is an exact match to the first image.  It might just be on my wish list!

What are your favourite street style blogs??
